1 Year Blogging Anniversary
TW/CW: talking of depression & anxiety
So today is a very special and exciting day as it's the anniversary of my first year blogging! Last year on the 31st of August I decided to take the plunge and put up my first blog post, as well as my first bookstagram post - I think I might have started my Twitter a bit earlier but for the sake of consistency I'm just going to say that was on the 31st as well 😂
I am so glad that I made that post and was introduced to the bookish community! I've had so much fun over the last year and have grown so much as well, especially with my writing skills, my confidence and the books I have now read that I would have probably never have heard of before. I can't thank you all enough for being so welcoming and lovely!
It's strange to think that this time last year I was in a spiral of anxiety and depression not knowing what I wanted to do with my life. Now I know and am working towards hopefully gaining a career in publishing and wanting to work with books - maybe even start writing my own book one day! I've loved working with so many amazing authors, publishers and book tour companies over the last year and I can't to discover even more! Never in a million years would I have ever imagined that a quote from my review would ever make it into a book as well! So many amazing things have happened and I'm so excited to see what's going to happen next.
Book, Blog & Candle started after I watched Good Omens and is a play on Bell, Book & Candle ("Ain't no time for reading where you're going laddy") and it was the only name that really stuck with me - plus it helped that it was free for all of my social media handles 😂
I've absolutely loved being creative with my photos on bookstagram and meeting so many amazing people on there and Twitter. I'm excited to be able to create some more exciting content for everybody and engage even more with yours!
Becoming a book blogger has been one of the best decisions I have ever made even though my bank account might disagree with me on that one 😂
Thank you for making my first year so incredible - I'm so excited to share some more fantastic years with you all ❤️
