Book Review: If You Change Your Mind by Robby Weber (ARC)

"In this hilarious and heartfelt debut novel, an aspiring screenwriter learns sometimes love has its own script.

Harry wants nothing more than to write Hollywood screenplays. He knows the first step toward achieving that goal is winning a screenwriting competition that will seal his admission into the college of his dreams, so he’s determined to spend his summer free of distractions—also known as boys—and finish his script. After last year, Harry is certain love only exists in the movies anyway.

But then the cause of his first heartbreak, Grant, returns with a secret that could change everything—not to mention, there’s a new boy in town, Logan, who is so charming and sweet, he’s making Harry question everything he knows about romance. As he tries to keep his emotions in check and stick to his perfect plan for the future, Harry's about to learn that life doesn't always follow a script."

I received If You Change Your Mind by Robby Weber for free by Harper 360 YA in exchange for an honest review. Thank you so much for my advanced copy!

I loved that at the start of the book the author said that they wanted this story to feel like a favourite sunny day and I want to start this review off by saying that this genuinely felt like a slice of summer! That intention and warmth came across perfectly in every page and I am already planning a reread when summer comes!

It only took me a couple of pages to just fall in love with our main character Harry. I loved his passion for screenwriting and it was so cool to see his screenplay develop throughout the book, especially with how it reflected his real life dilemmas.

Plus the love triangle was so well done and I liked how it reflected his own personal crossroad. Does he stay with something he knows or venture with something new and exciting that will help him grow?

I love romcoms so much and this is a great one to add to the list! I absolutely adored how the chapter titles were based off of different romcom films too!

If You Change Your Mind is a cute summer read perfect for reading in the sun!
