There have been so many books that have made me forget the outside world! It's the
sign of a great read!
However, the most recent book that has made me forget that the world around me existed would have to be Melmoth by Sarah Perry. As a general rule, I typically avoid any horror/scary books but I happened to pick up Melmoth without knowing that it was kind of a scary story! It was so worth it though because it is definitely one of my favourite reads this year! It includes a great plot line and some absolutely beautiful writing I would highly recommend it! 😍
"My father, meanwhile, was a man made up of the parts of other men: the achievements and eccentricities of my grandfather, and my great uncles, and so on, were his sole source of pride. I think of him now as a piece of a mirror hanging on a wall: empty, unless another man walked past."
What is a book that made you forget the world around you existed? I look forward to everybody's FaeFriday posts and feel free to join in! I'll see you next week with the next prompt! ☺️ In the mean time, you can find me on my Twitter and Instagram!
