If Love Had A Price - Ana Huang (ARC)

Every heart has a price.

She offered him $10,000 to seduce her father’s gold-digging fiancée. He countered with $15,000 and a kiss—from her. At any time he chose.

Kris should’ve said no, but she was desperate to get rid of her stepmother-to-be, and the gorgeous actor with the wicked grin was perfect for the job. So she agreed to his terms—not knowing that doing so would cost her a lot more than money and a kiss...

He did it for the money, which he desperately needed. The kiss was just a bonus, or so he told himself.

Melting an ice princess like Kris started as a challenge, but by the time Nate realized there was more to Kris than meets the eye, it was too late: he had fallen. But they’re not just from opposite sides of the track—they’re from different worlds. And when those worlds collide, Kris and Nate must decide whether they’re willing to give up what they have for what could be…

If Love Had a Price is book three in the If Love series but can be read as a complete standalone. It takes place between books one (If We Ever Meet Again) and two (If the Sun Never Sets). No cliffhanger!

Recommended for 18+ due to adult language and explicit content.

TW/CW: alcoholism / sexual themes / mention of miscarriage

I received an E-ARC of If Love Had A Price by Ana Huang for free by the author in exchange for an honest review. If Love Had A Price was published on the 30th September 2020 and is currently available on GoodReads & Amazon.

If Love Had A Price is part of the 'If Love' series but you don't need to have read the previous books in the series to understand this one. The first two instalments - If We Ever Meet Again & If The Sun Never Sets - I had the pleasure of reading and reviewing on my blog recently and they follow the love story of Blake and Farrah who meet whilst studying abroad in Shanghai. Whereas this book focuses on their friend Kris, who they also meet in Shanghai, and her goal of trying to get rid of her soon to be step-mother.

Kris is the classic rich, pretty and spoiled girl. She's stubborn and when she knows what she wants she's not afraid to go for it. I really liked her character because she takes no BS but you could also tell that she would do absolutely anything for those she cares about. Hence why she is going to so much trouble to stop her father from marrying his girlfriend who she is sure is a gold digger.

Nate was born and raised in LA and dreams of becoming an actor. He's charming, cocky and funny which seems like the perfect concoction for a future actor. However, after the death of his mother and his father falling into a pit of depression and alcoholism, Nate has had to put his dreams on hold to look after his family, especially his little sister who is still in high school. So when Kris offers him $15,000 to seduce and get rid of her stepmother, it sounds like an offer too good to refuse.

I instantly fell in love with these characters and that is one of the reasons why I love Ana Huang's writing because she has a way of making you feel connected and care about her characters from the first sentence. Plus, I loved the cameos from the other characters in the previous books! It was so sweet and such a nice touch.

Ana Huang's books are just amazing and so easy to read, I thoroughly recommend them to anyone who enjoys a good romance!

Thank you for reading my thoughts, you can also find me on my Twitter and Instagram! Let me know if you have any recommendations of what I should read next.
