My Favourite Halloween Movies!

Happy Spooky Season everyone!

So Halloween is just round the corner and I absolutely LOVE halloween, which is actually quite shocking when you find out that I can't stand anything that is too scary! 😂 I can't handle horror films but I thought I'd put together a little list of some films that get me into the spoopy feeling this time of year!

Let me know if you like any of these too!

So I'm going to start off with an absolute classic because you can't have Halloween without The Addams Family! I absolutely love these films and it made my year when The Addams Family and The Addams Family Values were added to Netflix a couple of months ago, I may have watched them a lot since 😂 Wednesday is just iconic and the love between Morticia and Gomez is amazing!

Also I'm not gonna lie the animated version on Netflix is so good as well, it was the perfect start to show my nieces 😂

Whilst we're on the subject of classics, Halloween wouldn't be Halloween without Hocus Pocus! I remember I couldn't find it anywhere to watch last year and I was heartbroken so being able to stream it on Disney+ this year has been so lovely. This has been a must-watch in my house every year since I was young and I remember how much the Sanderson sisters used to scare me 😂 Now though they are absolutely hilarious!

So Casper is a film that I don't see mentioned often but it is one of my all time favourites! Plus you can't deny that Christina Ricci is the Queen of Halloween. This is a film that will never fail to make me swoon and cry - "Can I keep you?" will always be the sweetest line!

Halloweentown is an absolute GEM from Disney 😂 It's cheesy, fun and full of amazing supernatural creatures that all live peacefully in a town together. It is a great feel good film for this time of year!

Ok so Practical Magic does scare me a bit (only because there is a scene with a beetle that panics me 😂) but I have overlook my 'no scare' rule for this amazing film! I think I was WAY too young when I first watched this but I was instantly obsessed. Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman are practically magic together - haha see what I did there?

If you haven't seen Disney's Twitches then you are missing out! I loved this film when I was younger and I even missed out on a school dance so I didn't miss the premiere of the sequel 😂 Tia & Tamera Mowry are such fantastic actors, I love anything that they are in! Plus it's such a cute concept of twins separated at birth accidentally find each other AND also find out that they are witches?! Pure perfection is all I'm saying!

The Nightmare Before Christmas is so wonderfully weird and matches my aesthetic perfectly. I love that you can literally watch this film anytime between Halloween and Christmas and it will still be the season for it! I finally convinced my family to watch this for the first time last year and they loved it and is now a firm favourite!

I love everything about The Corpse Bride! Surprisingly I only watched it for the first time a couple of years ago but it is so beautiful. If you want to watch something that is a little creepy but a great story with some heartbreaking moments then this film is definitely for you!

Who you gonna call? GHOSTBUSTERS!

Ok, sorry I've got that out of my system 😂 But how can this film not fill you with pure joy? I haven't got round to watching the recent remake yet but I am super excited to get to it - I've definitely heard some good things!

Coco made me sob like a goddamn baby! It is such a beautiful story with fantastic songs. My nieces are both obsessed with this film (and ok maybe I am too...just a little) and I may have already watched it many times this October 😂

What are your favourite Halloween movies? I hope you all have a safe and spooky weekend, let me know what you're up to in the comments and if you're still dressing up! I must admit I'm still tempted 😂

Happy Halloween everyone! ❤️🎃

Love Soph x
