Rapid Fire Book Tag

(Created using Visme)

Thank you to the lovely Leah over at Leah's Books & Cooks for the tag! Make sure to check out her blog! This tag was created by Girl Reading and contains some quick fire bookish questions.

E-Book or Physical Book?

Physical books all the way!! I love being able to hold (and smell 😂) a book whilst I am reading it. I don't mind E-books and have had to read more since becoming a blogger but I find that I read them slower because staring at a screen for too long starts to mess with my eyes.

Paperback or Hardback?

Although hardbacks are pretty, I am a paperback girl! They're so much easier to fit into my bag whenever I'm out and about, not to mention so much lighter! I've recently got a nice book sleeve as well so that sorts out the problem I was having with accidentally damaging my books.

Online or In-Store Book Shopping?

I love in-store book shopping but I usually save it for special occasions when I can really browse round the shop and it's usually after my birthday/Christmas when I have some gift tokens. I love the feeling of being able to pick up a book, take it to the till and just be able to have it straight away. But most of the time I do get my books from online because it is cheaper 😂

Trilogies or Series?

I love both but slight preference towards trilogies.

Heroes or Villains?

Ooh I love a good villain!

A book you want everyone to read?

A Gentleman in Moscow! I've recommended it a million times before and I'll do it a million times again 😂 Fantastic book!

Recommend an underrated book?

I love The Invisible Library by Genevieve Cogman - it's so good and it's a whole series! I haven't seen many other people saying about it but it is great!

The last book you finished?

Daughter of the Zel by Phoebe Ritter - a very good read!

The Last Book You Bought?

The Last Wish (The Witcher) by Andrzej Sapkowski

Weirdest Thing You’ve Used as a Bookmark?

Jeez what haven't I used? 😂 Receipts, cat hairs (which did not work 😂) - honestly anything closest to me!

Used Books: Yes or No?

No I prefer to have my own book.

Top Three Favorite Genres?

Young Adult

Fantasy

Contemporary

Borrow or Buy?

Buy! I should be better with borrowing but I love knowing that I can write or highlight my favourite lines in a book and most importantly that I don't have to give it back. It's heartbreaking having to take a book back!

Characters or Plot?

Umm I think plot for me. I will always find characters to love but if there isn't a plot to support it then it would kind of fall flat.

Long or Short Books?

I prefer short books. I do love long books but I have to be in the right mindset for a long book and ready for the long haul 😂

Long or Short Chapters?

Can I say medium? 😂 I find really long chapters very hard to keep my interest but also I find it hard to get into a story that has just really short chapters 😂 I'm a mess 😂

Name The First Three Books You Think Of:

Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo

The Light Fantastic by Terry Pratchett

The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern

(Everything on my TBR that I should have read by now 😂)

Books That Makes You Laugh or Cry?

Laugh! But if I'm being honest everything makes me cry 😂

Our World or Fictional Worlds?

Fictional worlds! I mean both are great but with fictional you can be transported anywhere and anything in possible!

Audiobooks: Yes or No?

Not for me 😥 In theory they are really great but I kind of tune out when someone is speaking to me for ages and I just realised that that sounds SO BAD 🙈😂 My brain can't deal with having someone to read to me which is so strange because my favourite thing when I was a kid was to have my parents read to me 😂 Now, I just get distracted and think about other things and I'm really not digging myself out of this hole!

Do You Ever Judge a Book by its Cover?

I know I shouldn't but yes! I can't resist a pretty book 😂

Book to Movie or Book to TV Adaptations?

I don't mind either tbh 🤷‍♀️

A Movie or TV-Show You Preferred to its Book?

I really preferred The Death Cure movie (third in the Maze Runner Trilogy) over the book, it was really well done!

Series or Standalones?

Series for me, I love my babies 😍

Sorry, I've just realised I wasn't very quick fire on many of these 😂 That's so on brand for me though, I just waffle on about anything 😂
