Hiya everyone,

I've got a review today which is very different to my normal book reviews! Today I'm

going to be talking about a new graphics tool called Visme!

The lovely team over at Visme were very kind to give me a complimentary account so I could have a play around on their site in exchange for giving it an honest review.

In this post I am going to go through what Visme is, how it is different to other online tools and my first impressions of the site.

If you're interested in graphics or a novice like me then I hope this post helps! If you have any questions please let me know :)

About Visme

Visme is an "easy-to-use online tool allowing anyone to communicate visually through amazing infographics and presentations and other forms of visual content for non-designers. Publish online, make it private, embed to a site or download for offline use."

There is also a very informative video over on Youtube that helps explain what Visme is if you'd like to check it out! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fxAroxawE0U

Visme has been a work in progress for over 5 years and is still being worked on! It will officially be coming out of Beta in May. The developers are very serious when it comes to consumer feedback which is very clear as there are continual upgrades and their latest release was "based on reviews and feedback from over 1.2 million users from over 90 countries." This site was designed to be easy to use but also powerful and is for anybody from bloggers to educators and more.

There are a lot of online tools out there which are all good but according to Visme they are the only tool that allows you to create various forms of content as simple graphics but with series of interactive features to bring static content to life such as: the ability to animate any object and assign actions; add video or audio; embed content from third parties; set your own template and brand guidelines; track traffic & engagement of content (full analytics) and you can create your own library of projects. In the free version - you get 5 projects free.

Visme is good for those who are not great at design (like me!) and also bloggers, educators, students, small businesses and organisations. It doesn't matter whether you have loads or just a little bit of experience as users can start from using a template or start from scratch with a blank canvas. All users can register for free - it only takes a couple of minutes! Most of the features are free but some premium features do require a monthly/yearly plan starting at $19/a month.

Users can easily publish and share their visme online, embed it onto their website or blog and even download it to use offline. You have the ability to create everything such as visual reports, printable (flyers/posters/business cards), blog graphics, social graphics and banner ads.

Not only can you use the provided fonts, icons & graphics you can also upload your own fonts, set your own templates, add your own logo and even set your own brand colours. They even have a full animation engine!

My Impressions

I don't think it will come to a surprise to anyone when I say that I am a complete novice when it comes to making graphics 😂 My journey with graphics started when I noticed some other book bloggers using them and thought they looked really pretty and would help liven up my blog posts. I was really touched that Visme got in contact with me for this opportunity!

Everyone from Visme that I came into contact with were so nice and so helpful. They were happy to answer any questions that I had and it was easy to tell how much love they put into their product! I loved that as soon as I signed up I received a welcome email with resources to help me start my projects. They also offer plenty of video tutorials and articles to help you with whatever aspect you need!

When I first got onto the Visme dashboard I found it to be very impressive but not daunting. Everything is clearly laid out and easy to access.

I find it really easy to use and the graphics are really helping me enhance my blog! There are so many different options to choose from (infomercials, web etc. social graphics etc).

For the purpose of my blog I've been focusing/using social graphics. There are so many cool and pretty templates to choose from and they're easy to change if you want something a little different.

Here's an example if you wanted to create a graphic for a twitter post, although I use these for my blog as well as they are the perfect size!

As I said above, it is so easy to change the writing, font and colour! You can also add different background photos from your own collection if you wish and add in extra little graphics! (Check down below for examples of ones I've created!)

I have had a lot of fun being able to create these graphics for my blog - you'll definitely recognise all of these that I have been using! 😂 I mostly use the templates but I have experimented a little further recently for the OWL's Magical Readathon!

Visme is fantastic for beginners like me and I have really enjoyed using it! It has taken something that was a bit scary to me because I had no idea how to do it and turned it into a piece of cake! They really are lovely graphics to use.

I like how it moulds to the needs of its user, so for me I just needed the more basic elements but there is also plenty more for someone more advanced who already knows the basics of graphic design and want something a little extra.

Thank you so much to everyone at Visme for taking a chance on me and for sharing their lovely creation with me. It's been an absolute pleasure using it! You can also find me on Twitter and Instagram!
